Dani Kouyaté

Dani Kouyaté (born June 4, 1961 in Bobo-Dioulasso , Upper Volta ) is a Burkinabe director.

Life

He comes from a family of Griots and is the son of the actor Sotigui Kouyaté . Kouyaté began his training at the Institut africain d'études cinématographiques in Ouagadougou and continued it at the Sorbonne in Paris . After various short film productions, Keïta! L'héritage du griot, the first feature film, about Sundiata Keïta, the founder of the Mandinka empire. This was followed by Sia, le rêve du python , Ouaga Saga (a comedy about young people in Ouagadougou) and a documentary about Joseph Ki-Zerbo .
