Matthias Duppel

Matthias Duppel (born May 4, 1980 ) is a German chess player . He has held the title of International Master since 2001 .

Life

Matthias Duppel is married to WIM Tina Mietzner . The couple has a son (* 2006).

Chess successes

As a youth coach, he looked after the Württemberg youth team at national championships (for example in 2003 in Kassel ). In 2001 and 2001 he himself became youth champion as a player for Württemberg.

He played for the chess clubs TSF Ditzingen , SC Untergrombach , VfL Sindelfingen and SC-HP Böblingen . With Baiertal Schatthausen and the Stuttgart Chess Friends he played in the German Federal Chess League . In the Belgian first division he played for KSK 47 Eynatten . He also played in the French league.

In 2000 he won the Böblinger Open and the Tammer Open. In 2001 he won the open city championships in Böblingen and the 12th promenade tournament in Friedrichshafen .

His Elo rating is 2399 (as of September 2018), but he is listed as inactive because he has not played an Elo-rated game since the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg season 2013/14. His best Elo rating to date was 2455 from April to September 2001 and from July to September 2002.
