Daniel C. Hallin
Daniel C. Hallin (born June 11, 1953 in Palo Alto ) is an American political and communication scientist . He teaches as a professor in the Department of Communication at the University of California, San Diego . He is internationally known for the so-called Hallin Spheres , a model for the media representation of political events.
Hallin studied political science at the University of California, Berkeley , where he took his bachelor's degree in 1973 and his master's degree in 1974 . In 1980 he was awarded a Ph.D. PhD . Since 1992 he has taught at the University of California, San Diego, first as a political scientist, then as a communication scientist.
