Daniel Karrais

Daniel Karrais (born May 12, 1990 in Tübingen ) is a German politician ( FDP / DVP ). He has been a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament since 2018 .

biography

Daniel Karrais grew up in Epfendorf . He is a mechanical engineer ( Master of Science degree from the University of Stuttgart in 2015). After working as a personal advisor to a member of the state parliament, in 2017 he took up a position as manager of corporate development at the telecommunications company NetCom BW GmbH . He continued to do this after assuming his state parliament mandate up to and including August 2019.

Party and politics

Daniel Karrais was the district chairman of the Young Liberals in the Rottweil district from 2010 to 2017 . From 2013 to 2019 he was deputy district chairman of the FDP Rottweil. Karrais has been the district chairman of the Free Democrats in Rottweil since April 2019.

In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2016 , he was a second candidate in the Rottweil state electoral district . After Gerhard Aden, who was elected there, left the state parliament, Karrais moved up on November 13, 2018. He is a member of the Committee on Home Affairs, Digitization and Migration, the Committee on Environment, Climate and Energy, and the Committee on Europe and International Affairs. Karrai's main focus is on digitization, digital infrastructure and energy policy. Due to his expertise, the member of the state parliament is repeatedly asked in interviews. Furthermore, Daniel Karrais is chairman of the working group Environment & Energy as well as chairman of the working group digitization of the FDP / DVP parliamentary group.

In the local elections in 2019, Karrais was also elected to the city council in Rottweil for the FDP. In addition to his position as district chairman of the FDP Rottweil, the member of the state parliament is also deputy chairman of the FDP parliamentary group in the regional association SBH.
