Daniel Klajner

Daniel Klajner (born December 26, 1963 in Bülach ) is a Swiss general music director .

Life

Klajner was born in Bülach in the canton of Zurich and studied conducting and composition in Vienna. At the State Opera there he was assistant to Leonard Bernstein and later to Claudio Abbado in Berlin and Salzburg. At the age of 26 he was appointed general music director in Stralsund. He worked as a permanent guest at the Theater Dortmund and as a permanent guest conductor in Bern. From 2000 to 2005 Klajner was general music director of the city of Würzburg and artistic director of the Mozart Festival in Würzburg. He then worked until 2012 as the first guest conductor in Strasbourg and as chief conductor in Mühlhausen, Alsace.

In 2002 he made his debut at the Paris Bastille, his Scala debut took place in 2005. Other positions brought him to Düsseldorf, Weimar and Graz, among others. In 2015/16 he was chief conductor of the Landeskapelle in Eisenach.

Since the beginning of the 2016/17 season he has been director of the Theater Nordhausen / Loh-Orchester Sondershausen GmbH .
