Daniel Mensah , called Hello (* 1968 in Teshie ), is a well-known Ghanaian coffin artist from the Ga ethnic group .

biography

Daniel Mensah was born in Teshie in 1968 . In 1984 he began his six-year apprenticeship with the coffin artist Paa Joe in Nungua. Daniel Mensah then stayed for eight years as a master carpenter with Paa Joe until he opened his own workshop "Hello Design Coffin Works" in 1998 in the former Kane Kreis studio in Teshie. Hello was involved in various group exhibitions in international museums. His figural coffins can be found in the collections of the British Museum , London and the Sainsbury Center for Visual Arts in Norwich , England , among others .
