history

The name Germannsberg appears in the course of history as Germundberge , Germunsperge , Germuntsperg or Germannsperig . The district is closely connected with the village of Denkhof . It can be proven in the 12th century as a manorial judicial area.

Already at the end of the 12th century until 1220 a high esteem Ministeriale Albero named itself after Germannsberg (Germundsberge). In his hands there was a manorial judicial district (iudicium), which was subordinate to the high bishopric of the bishop and had been issued as a loan to the Germannsberger. The last Griesbacher, Heinrich von Waxenberg, exercised the high bailiff in Germannsberg. This went to the Passau bishop after his death . When the Germannsbergs died out at the end of the 13th century, two fiefdoms in Germannsberg Hof became vacant, along with others.

At the end of the 14th century Germannsberg was in the hands of the Urleinsberger, who were enfeoffed with the ministerial seat after the Germannsbergers died out. To end a dispute, Peter Urleinsberger von Germannsperig sold the following episcopal fiefs in 1400:

  • his seat in Germannsperig (= Denkhof)
  • the mill under the mountain (= Kothmühle)
  • a Sölde to the farm (= Germannsberg)
  • the fish pasture under the mountain
  • the umbrella over the Widem, which belongs to the chapel (Denkhof)
  • the Hofwiese zu Germannsberg
  • the estate at Gaispach
  • the mill at Saespach (Saßbachmühle)
  • a good at Prünst (Ausernbrünst)

to Christian den Watzmannsdorfer zu Leoprechting. Germannsberg was one of the 200 properties that the Watzmannsdorfer acquired between 1361 and 1493.

Hof und Hofmark Germannsberg, Mühle, Fischwasser, Hofwiese and four estates in the Hof zu Germannsberg appear in the list of fiefs that Georg Watzmannsdorfer received from Bishop Christoph from 1490 to 1500. In 1553 Georg Trauner, one of the heirs of the Watzmannsdorf family, was the owner of Germannsberg. In 1575 Germannsberg appeared as "Hofmark Germannsberg or Tenkhof" in a directory of the high esteemed court brands. Accordingly, today's Denkhof was the seat of the Hofmark.
