Bärnreuth is part of the municipality of Büchlberg in the Lower Bavarian district of Passau .
The village is located on the PA 21 district road about 5 kilometers northeast of Büchlberg on the eastern edge of the municipality. It has a total of 68 inhabitants. There is a village chapel between house numbers 1 and 4. Bärnreuth lies at the foot of the Steinberg ( 830 m above sea level ). In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , the place came on July 1, 1972 from the later disbanded municipality of Nirsching to Büchlberg.
