Location of Denkhof in Bavaria

Denkhof is part of the municipality of Büchlberg in the district of Passau . The parish village has a total of 93 inhabitants.

location

Denkhof is located in the compartment on the border with the Freyung-Grafenau district, about four kilometers northeast of Büchlberg on an elevation east of federal highway 12 . In the small town, the stately parish church of St. Laurentius, built in 1912, is striking from afar.

history

Denkhof is closely connected to the town of Germannsberg, which can be proven as a manorial judiciary as early as the 12th century.

On December 7th, 1400 Peter Urleinsberger von Germansperig sold his seat in Germannsberg with various goods, all fiefs of the Bishop of Passau, to Christian the Watzmannsdorfer zu Leoprechting. In 1575 the "Hofmark Germannsberg or Tenkhof" appears in a directory of the court brands of the Passau bishopric . Denkhof was therefore the seat of the Hofmark and the associated chapel was a remnant of the castle.

In his highly esteemed time, Denkhof belonged to the Nirsching chairman in the Hutthurm office of the Leoprechting district court. Denkhof had been the main town of the Nirsching community since the 19th century. With the incorporation of the municipality of Nirsching as part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Denkhof came to the municipality of Büchlberg on July 1, 1972.

Parish history

The parish church of St. Laurentius

A church has stood here since the 11th century, which Hutthurm looked after in the 14th century. In 1867 the rectory was built. On June 7, 1882, the Denkhof Expositur, comprising 438 people, was built, and the church cemetery was laid out in 1895.

Construction of the new church began on February 27, 1912, and the foundation stone was laid on April 9, 1912. The shell was completed on November 28, 1912. The old church, which had become too small, was demolished.

The Bishop of Passau Sigismund Felix Freiherr von Ow-Felldorf consecrated the new church on July 11, 1914. On June 1, 1921, the Denkhof branch was elevated to a parish. The high altar of the parish church with a view of the town of Denkhof in the altar sheet dates from 1933.

education and parenting

The St. Laurentius Kindergarten, inaugurated on November 29, 1993, is housed in the building of the former school. The building was erected in 1902 and operated as a school until 1987.

societies

In addition to the volunteer fire brigade , the soldiers and warriors' association and the rifle club, the Third Order, founded in 1898, and the Catholic Women's Association, founded in 1966, are particularly important in church organizations.
