Daniel Montes de Oca (born January 3, 1952 in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of defender .

career

Montes de Oca received his first professional contract in 1970 with Club Necaxa . When this club was acquired by a Spanish consortium in 1971 and renamed Atlético Español , Montes de Oca switched to city ​​rivals Atlante , where he played until 1975 and then again from 1979 to 1985. In the four years between then he worked for the Club Universidad de Guadalajara .

With the Leones Negros he was twice runners-up in the Mexican League (1976 and 1977) and in 1978 he won the North Zone of the CONCACAF Champions' Cup . He was also runner-up with Atlante in 1982 and won the CONCACAF Champions' Cup in 1983.
