Daniel Quare
Daniel Quare (* 1648 in Somersetshire ; † 1724 ) was an English watchmaker from London.
Life
In 1671 Quare joined the London Worshipful Company of Clockmakers and in 1708 was elected "Master". In addition to clocks, Daniel Quare has built numerous barometers and mathematical instruments. Daniel Quare watches are part of the Royal Collection at Buckingham Palace and Hampton Court Palace . Around 1680, at the same time as Edward Barlow (* 1636 † 1716), he developed a quarter repeater mechanism for pocket watches, for which he was able to apply for a patent in 1686.
