Claus Bernet

Claus Bernet (* 1970 in Nuremberg ) is a German historian with a focus on historical peace churches, pietism, city history and cooperatives.

Life

Claus Bernet studied history, art history and urban planning in Berlin, Vienna and Birmingham. The dissertation in the field of early modern times took place in 2005 at the Martin Luther University Halle . In addition, he studied education at the Free University of Berlin . In 2007 he did his doctorate with a thesis on social institutions in building cooperatives. In 2008 Bernet received a grant from the Marbach Literature Archive for a study of German-Italian intellectuals around 1900. From 2008 to 2012, he worked for Lebenshilfe eV in Berlin and now works for the Sehstern association .

Bernet wrote numerous articles in the Biographical-Bibliographical Church Lexicon (BBKL).

  • Since 2004 member of the Board of Trustees at Woodbrooke ( Quaker College ) in Birmingham.
