Danny Alberto Fonseca Bravo (born November 7, 1979 in Cartago , Costa Rica ) is a Costa Rican soccer player .
In 1998 Fonseca made his first division debut for CS Cartaginés and he has remained loyal to the club to this day. He plays in defensive midfield and his particular strength is man marking.
At the Junior World Championships in 1999 he was already represented in the selection of his country, but the jump into the Costa Rican national team was a long time coming. He made his first appearance in 2003 and stayed on the bench for a long time until he made his breakthrough in 2005/06 in the run-up to the 2006 World Cup in Germany. At the 2006 World Cup, he was in Costa Rica's squad .
