Daniel "Danny" Garcia (born October 14, 1993 in Dallas ) is an American football player who is mostly used as a midfielder . He is currently under contract with San Antonio FC .
Career
Youth and amateur football
Garcia began his football career in the youth of FC Dallas . After a few seasons there, it was announced on February 8, 2012 that Garcia is one of nine players who got a guest license for the University of North Carolina . In his first and only year, he played 23 games for the Tar Heels, scoring four goals and preparing another six.
Club career
On June 18, 2013 Garcia signed a contract under the Homegrown Player Rule with FC Dallas . This did not allow him, however, to complete an assignment in the MLS during the 2013 season . Garcia made his competitive debut on May 4, 2014 in a 1-0 loss to the New York Red Bulls .
Garcia was loaned to Arizona United on April 27, 2015 for the remainder of the season .
After his contract with FC Dallas was not renewed, he moved in February to the United Soccer League for the newly founded San Antonio FC .
National team
Garcia was part of the squad for the 2013 U-20 World Cup and the 2013 CONCACAF U-20 Championship .
