Danny Koevermans (born November 1, 1978 in Schiedam ) is a former Dutch football player .

He has been on the coaching staff at FC Utrecht since he retired.

Career

Koevermans began his career at the amateur club Excelsior '20 in Schiedam . In the 2000/01 season he made his professional football debut at Sparta Rotterdam . At Sparta he was a dangerous striker and was one of the top scorers of the Eerste Divisie . For the 2005/06 season he signed with AZ Alkmaar , where he only stayed two seasons. In 2007 he switched to PSV Eindhoven . In his first season there he was able to win the Dutch championship with the red and whites . Koevermans was able to contribute 14 goals to winning the title.

On June 29, 2011, his move to Toronto FC was announced. He made his Major League Soccer debut on July 20, 2011 against FC Dallas .

On January 31, 2014, he moved to FC Utrecht . On March 20, 2014, he announced the end of his career.

National team

He made his debut in the Dutch national team at the age of 28 in qualifying for the 2008 European Football Championship against Slovenia . He scored his first goal in the 1-0 win against Luxembourg on November 17, 2007.
