Danny Barber (murderer)
Danny Lee Barber (born May 8, 1955 in Los Angeles County , California , † February 11, 1999 in Walker County , Texas ) was an American serial killer who was executed in 1999.
Events
Barber was arrested in Dallas County in October 1979 for the murder of 50-year-old Janice Ingram , who he killed after a failed break-in at her home. He had been caught on the basis of a fingerprint and made a confession. In May 1980, he confessed to the January 1979 murder of 48-year-old Mercedes Mendez in Dallas County. He had mistreated Mendez and killed him with three head shots. He also confessed to the murder of Mary Caperton in April 1980 and the killing of another woman in June 1978.
He was sentenced to death in August 1980 for the murder of Janice Ingram. For the other three murders, he was sentenced to life imprisonment. In February 1999 he was executed by lethal injection in the Huntsville Unit .
