The Dansungsa in Seoul opened as a stage theater in 1907. From 1918 films were also shown, making it one of the first cinemas in Korea . On October 27, 1919, the first Korean film was shown there with Fight for Justice (original title: 의리 적 구투 ) . Since 1966, October 27 has been considered Korean Film Day .
In 2005 the Dansungsa was reopened.
