The Daphne Islands ( Spanish "Islas Daphne" ) (Major ⊙ and Chica ⊙ ) are two uninhabited volcanic islands in the Galápagos Archipelago with a total area of about 41 hectares .
Daphne Major (33,022 hectares) is 7.6 kilometers north of the main island of Santa Cruz and 8.5 kilometers west of Baltra . It is a lonely crater jutting out of the sea, the edge of which can be climbed from the sea. The island is famous for the countless breeding pairs of birds that raise their offspring on the crater floor. On the steep crater walls, which serve as outspoken quick flyer breed Tropikvögel .
3.3 kilometers northeast of Daphne Mayor is 7,958 hectare Daphne Chica .
