The Darboux Island ( French Île Darboux ) is a 1.5 km long and up to 270 m high island off the Graham coast of Graham Land in the north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 5 km west of Cape Pérez .
They were discovered by participants in the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903-1905) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot . Charcot named it after the French mathematician Gaston Darboux (1842–1917).
