Darja Donzowa ( Russian Дарья Аркадьевна Донцова ; born Wasiljewa , Russian Васильева, actually Agrippina Arkadjewna Donzowa ; born June 7, 1952 in Moscow ) is a Russian crime writer.

She studied journalism at Moscow's Lomonosov University , then worked as a translator and teacher for German and French. In 1977 she wrote her first detective novel, fell seriously ill in the 1990s and used a long hospital stay for more novels. Darja Donzowa has published 200 detective novels, 5 cookbooks, 2 autobiographies, 5 books for children with a total circulation of 200 million copies and has been three times Writer of the Year in Russia. Several of her books were filmed as television series in Russia, and two were named bestsellers of the year . She has a talk show on the radio in Russia and a section on TV.

She is married with three children and lives in Moscow.
