Intestinal juice

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Intestinal juice (also intestinal secretion or succus entericus) is an enzyme-rich secretion produced in the intestine by the intestinal glands . The intestinal juice is used for digestion by digesting the food . The most important components of the intestinal juice are amylase , erepsin , lipase and maltase . Lactase is produced in the baby's intestine.

The intestinal juice is produced in the duodenum (then called duodenal juice there with a pH value of 5.9–6.6) and in the large intestine .
