Marko is a place in the East Timorese Suco Meligo ( municipality of Bobonaro ). This is where the administrative headquarters of the Cailaco Administrative Office is located , which is why Marko is incorrectly referred to as Cailaco in some reports .

Marko is located at 182  m above sea level , in the northwest of the Sucos Meligo, between the rivers Bulobo and Hatopoci , which later flow into the Nunura . With the place Liabote ( Lia Bote ) Marko forms a closed settlement. It has a helipad, a community health center and a primary school, the Escola Primaria Meligo . The country road from Maliana to Hatolia Vila runs through Marko .

history

Marko was already the capital of Meligo during the Indonesian occupation (1975 to 1999). There was a base for the Indonesian armed forces here .
