Darmstadt District (Modern)

The Darmstädter Kreis was a group of experimental writers and directors that formed from 1957 around Claus Bremer , Daniel Spoerri and Emmett Williams at the Landestheater Darmstadt . He owned and Dieter Roth and André Thomkins on. He tried to transfer the experiences of experimental theater to German stages and to develop a dynamic theater that calls on the audience to comment and act on an equal footing.

Some members of the Darmstädter Kreis were also among the first poets to try out concrete poetry .
