Werner Hosemann
Werner Götz Hosemann (born September 28, 1954 in Freiburg ) is a German specialist in ear, nose and throat medicine . Since 2001 he has been a full professor at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald .
Career
Hosemann studied medicine at the University of Freiburg . He began his training with Volker Becker in the pathology department of the University of Erlangen . At the instigation of his teacher Malte Erik Wigand , he completed his habilitation with studies on wound healing after sinus surgery .
Within the German Society for Ear, Nose and Throat Medicine, Head and Neck Surgery , he was involved with key presentations (1992: Medico-legal problems in sinus surgery; 2000: Sinusitis chronica and obstructive airways diseases; 2004: Interdisciplinary Traumatology Management) . He has been President of the Society since 2014.
From Erlangen he moved to the ENT University Clinic of the University Clinic Regensburg , where he was the first senior physician. In 2001 he was appointed to the University of Greifswald to succeed Eberhard Werner. Gunter Mlynski initially continued to function as the senior physician .
With around 100 articles, Hosemann is an important German-speaking author on acute and chronic sinusitis and its medicinal and surgical therapy. In particular, frontal sinus surgery with examinations for wound healing and the development of special instruments should be emphasized.
