The German Society for Ear, Nose and Throat Medicine, Head and Neck Surgery e. V. (DGHNO-KHC) emerged in 1921 as the German Society of Ear, Nose and Throat Doctors from the Association of German Laryngologists and the German Otological Society . It has had the current name since 1968. The society currently has over 5,000 members. Its aim is to promote scientific and practical ear, nose and throat medicine , head and neck surgery . It wants to contribute to the unity of the field and to the further education and training of ear, nose and throat medicine, as well as deepening the connection to neighboring medical subjects and foreign specialist societies. The president of the company is Stefan Plontke, Halle / S. Thomas Deitmer has been Secretary General since August 2019 .

Memberships

The association is a member of the Working Group of Scientific Medical Societies (AWMF).

Congresses and publications

The association holds an annual meeting every year. In addition, the journal ENT Information appears four times a year . The journals Laryngo-Rhino-Otologie (Thieme Verlag), HNO (Springer Verlag) and the European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology (Springer Verlag) are organs of the society.
