Darragh O'Brien (born July 8, 1974 in Malahide , County Fingal ) is an Irish politician of the Fianna Fáil .

O'Brien grew up in Malahide. He attended Pope John Paul's National School and Malahide Community School . He later worked in the financial sector, including serving as President of the Fingal County Chamber of Commerce .

In June 2007 he was elected to the 30th Dáil Éireann in the Dublin North constituency for the Fianna Fáil . In the next elections in February 2011, however, he lost his mandate again. In early March, O'Brien was nominated by Taoiseach Brian Cowen in the 23rd Seanad Éireann . He re-occupied the vacant seat of Ciarán Cannon . He was elected to the 31st Dáil Éireann in February

O'Brien is married and has one daughter.
