The Darscho is a salt varnish in the Austrian Seewinkel in Burgenland .

The name comes from Hungarian and means something like warm lake . The water surface of around 500,000 m² is located north of the municipality of Apetlon on the asphalt road to Frauenkirchen . The lake is part of the UNESCO World Heritage -area cultural landscape Fertö / Lake Neusiedl . Above all, various water birds, sandpipers, seagulls and herons can be observed here. The remote, small steppe lake is also the namesake of wines from the surrounding areas.
