Darwin Correa

Darwin Correa , full name Darwin Mauricio Correa Kaminski , (born August 23, 1977 in Soriano Department ) is a Uruguayan canoeist .

The 1.72 meter tall Correa comes from the Club de Pesca San Salvador y Náutico Dolores in Dolores . He started at the XV. 1997 South American Canoe Championships in single and two-man Canadians alongside Juan Gutierrez . In one and two he was third over 200 meters (C1). He also took third place in the single and double on the 1000-meter course as well as on the 500-meter course in the C2. Correa took part in the 1998 South American Games in Ecuador with Uruguay's team . In 2001 he was Uruguayan champion in C1 over 200 meters, 500 meters and 1000 meters. At the South American Games in Brazil in 2002 , he won bronze medals in both the K1 and C1 over the 1000 meter distance. In 2003 he won the bronze medal at the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo in the single canoe over the distance of 1000 meters . It was also part of the Uruguayan squad at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. There he started over the 500 meter and 1000 meter courses in the single canoe and reached the semifinals. At the South American Games in 2006 he won two more bronze medals over the 500-meter and 1000-meter distance.
