The film was produced by Nordisk Film (No. 715) in one act at 300 or 375 meters, which corresponds to around 16 and 21 minutes. In the US, the film was called The Stolen Legacy . The US distribution companies were the Motion Picture Distributors and Sales Company and the importer was the Great Northern Film Company.
The premiere in Denmark was on January 14, 1911, in Germany from April 7 to 10, 1911 at the Apollo Theater in Görlitz and on April 22, 1911 in the USA.
