The post squirrel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Posthörnchen is a politically radical weekly newspaper, published in Aarau since 1835, for “daily events and news”. It was published by Samuel Landolt (1803–1880) who founded the Aargauer Tagblatt in 1847 , now the Mittelland Zeitung of the AZ Medien Gruppe Aarau.

The post squirrel set itself the task of "fighting darklings, franchisees, un-republicans, un-Christians and the sole freedom of masters and priests". It took the opponent's accusation of a "little read Sudelblattes und communen Wisch" as an honorary title.

Especially in the years of the monastery tower and the free marches, Das Posthörnchen was a highly respected and influential newspaper not only in Aarau , but also in the wider canton of Aargau and the neighboring area, due to its frankness and its unvarnished and sharp language , a merit that was less popular with the correspondents of Art and stroke of Andreas Dietsch , but to Samuel Landolt, who was trained in Heinrich Zschokke's journalism. Samuel Landolt was his own editor, editor, editorial writer , poet, typesetter and printer at the time.

The Volksblatt Das Alphorn was given free of charge to the “honored subscribers” of Das Posthörnchen “for pleasant and instructive entertainment”.
