Das Wespennest was the first satirical magazine in Germany after the Second World War .

Emergence

The magazine was founded in 1945 by Werner Finck and the later "Spiegel" author Hans Bayer .

Act

In addition to satirical political criticism in writing and images, “Das Wespennest” also published theater reviews and in 1948 awarded the “Challenge Prize for the Most Unfriendly Official” in Stuttgart.

attitude

In 1949 the magazine ceased operations. After the employees had gradually left the editorial office, the founding member Finck also gave up work due to declining reader numbers, whereupon the magazine no longer appeared.
