Ensembles
Ensemble Altstadt Schlüsselfeld
The ensemble encompasses the city within its medieval wall ring including the former moat area and the Brühlmühle located on the Reichen Ebrach . It was founded by Konrad II von Schlüsselberg around 1330 and received city rights on June 10, 1336 . After the dynasty died out in 1347, the new city first came to Bamberg and was then a Würzburg office from 1390 . The planned facility lies within an approximately square ring. The backbone is the wide street market that runs along a Bamberg-Würzburg escort road, the eastern exit of which is bent like a hook. Two-sided arrangement of parallel alleys, which each start in a U-shape from the street market and return to it, as well as cross alleys. To the north of the street market is the church district with the late Gothic parish church; in place of the abandoned churchyard now completely enclosed church square. On the southern outskirts of the city, the Marienkapelle, a baroque building that replaces a late medieval predecessor. The structure of the parcels on both sides of the street market is rectangular in shape, with buildings consisting of the front, rear and intermediate tracts, but smaller and more irregular on the side streets. The building stock was renewed after the fires in 1886 and 1915 at the eastern exit of the city and on the south-eastern side of the market square. Several stately mansard roof buildings from the 18th century give the market place its character, the former Würzburg official building, a broad building in the forms of the early 17th century and the town hall with a narrow baroque facade added to the northern row of houses rise here. Due to the slight slope, the market square is divided into two levels by a low, central retaining wall; the higher, northern side is covered with trees, an addition probably from the 19th century. The small-scale development of the side streets, as usual, mostly renewed or changed. The city wall, the core of which goes back to the founding time of the city (middle 14th century); mostly inserted or built in around the southern half of the city; around the northern half of the city, however, except for a few small interruptions, with two corner towers in the west and east. Of the former gates, the upper one is still upright, a gate tower with an outer structure. The former moat zone is clearly marked by a free strip of green surrounding the entire city. Remarks
- ↑ This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
