Ensemble town center Pommersfelden
The place Pommersfelden was first mentioned in 1297. The site of a probably early medieval castle on the northeastern edge of the village points to an even earlier local history. The Truchsess von Pommersfelden have been mentioned in the sources since the beginning of the 14th century . The foundation of the parish church dates back to 1349, which is also the burial place of the Truchsess (new building not until 1750). The oldest parts of the moated castle ruins, the seat of the Truchsess von Pommersfelden, date back to the 13th and 14th centuries. Century back. The market town developed around the former moated castle . Weissenstein Castle was built outside the village in 1711-16 . The result was brisk construction activity in the town itself: the new church, town hall and town houses and farmhouses on the main street date from the middle of the 18th century. At the beginning of the 19th century a momentous transformation of the originally French palace grounds into an English one began. It was completed around 1830. Associated with this was the width of the palace park, the displacement of local residents in the north and resettlement at the southern corners of the palace park on both sides of the stables (Vordere and Hintere Gasse). This redistribution of the local area, which also included an expansion of the castle gardening, included the Weißenstein castle more than before in the town of Pommersfelden. A comparison with the original cadastre from 1843 shows that this condition has remained almost unchanged to this day. The dominant castle, which blows up the place, was clutched. The ensemble includes the castle stable, the area around the Truchseß`sche former moated castle, the historic town center with church, town hall, rectory and other buildings from the 18th century, the entire complex of Weißenstein Castle and the extensions of the 19th century associated with the restructuring of the castle park. Century: the two settlements Vordere and Hintere Gasse and small houses at the end of the village street, which nestle against the widened castle boundaries. File number: E-4-71-172-1.

Remarks
- ↑ This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
