List of architectural monuments in Baunach
The monuments of the Upper Franconian town of Baunach are compiled on this page . This table is a partial list of the list of architectural monuments in Bavaria . The basis is the Bavarian Monument List , which was first drawn up on the basis of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act of October 1, 1973 and has since been managed by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation . The following information does not replace the legally binding information from the monument protection authority. This list reflects the update status of November 24, 2016 and contains 77 monuments.
Ensemble market place
Baunach , located at the confluence of the eponymous Baunach, Lauter and Itz rivers, was first mentioned in 804 and received city rights in 1328 and full fortification and market rights in 1341.
The fact that the town became a market again at the beginning of the 19th century and was only given the title of town back in 1954 is illustrated by the barely urban appearance of the community. The fortification was largely lost in the Thirty Years War . The market place ensemble, which particularly illustrates the history of Baunach as a market place, encompasses the area between the parish church in the east and the town hall in the west. The town hall, a mansard roof building from 1744, rises on the former castle hill, where the Schadeck castle of the noble family von Baunach had stood. The area of the church and the former cemetery, moved away from the market to the east towards the Baunach, preserves the seclusion of the formerly specially walled churchyard, which has been preserved even after the modern expansion of the parish church. The stately church tower with its characteristic watch towers dominates the entire cityscape and in particular the market square and the Marquard-Roppel-Straße leading to it. The old Baunach courtyards were located around the trapezoidal market square. These partly stately properties, often half-timbered buildings from the 16th to 18th centuries. Century, delimit the square and create a space with a high degree of unity.

Remarks
- ↑ This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
