German Games Prize 2005: 9th place |
Zavandor's Scepter is a board game by Jens Drögemüller for two to six players. It was published in 2004 by Lookout Games and in English by Z-Man Games and in 2005 reached 9th place in the German Games Prize . Despite the fantasy theme, it is basically an economy game. Victory points are obtained by buying either artifact or guardian cards, completing areas of knowledge or activating gems. In October 2005, it was one of the four board games played at the European Board Game Championship .
The game principle is based on the game Outpost by the author James Hlavaty , published by TimJim Games in 1991 .
