history

Z-Man Games was founded in 1999 by Zev Shlasinger as an independent game publisher . In the early years of his publishing company, Shlasinger focused on the trading card game Shadowfist as well as several smaller game titles such as Saboteur and other card games. He later invested in licenses for European games such as Agricola by Uwe Rosenberg and, among other things, produced his first own games with Pandemic by Matt Leacock .

In 2011, Sophie Gravel , owner and director of the Canadian game publisher and retailer Filosofia , bought Z-Man Games and transformed the publisher into F2Z Entertainment. F2Z Entertainment thus became the largest game publisher for board games in North America, Shlasinger stayed with the company until January 15, 2016. In the same year, F2Z Entertainment was taken over by Asmodée together with the publishers Z-Man Games, Plaid Hat Games and Filosofia merged under the direction of Steven Kimball with his studio Windrider Games.
