Matt Leacock (born 1971 in St. Paul , Minnesota ) is an American game writer best known for developing the Pandemic game .

biography

Matt Leacock began developing individual games in the 1990s. The first published game was Borderlands in 1995. In 2008 he published a dice game version In the Changing Times - The Dice Game - Bronze Age of the Successful Game In The Changing Times of Vlaada Chvátil , and on the other hand the very successful cooperative board game Pandemic , to which in the Several additions appeared in the following years. Both Pandemic and In the Changing Times - The Dice Game - Bronze Age were nominated for Game of the Year in their German-language version , as was Die Forbidden Island, developed in 2010 . In 2013, Leakey developed The Forgotten City, a sequel to The Forbidden Island , and other versions of the pandemic series were also released . In 2015, Leakey worked with former Hasbro employee Rob Daviau to integrate the concept of legacy games he developed into the Pandemic series, as a result of which they jointly released Pandemic Legacy (Season 1) . Pandemic Legacy (Season 1) was nominated for the Kennerspiel des Jahres as well as for the German Games Award and for the Gamers Choice Awards.
