Jason Matthews (born July 28, 1970 in London ) is a former British professional boxer and former WBO world middleweight champion. His fight name was "Method Man".

As an amateur boxer, he was English light welterweight champion in 1991 and English middleweight champion in 1995.

Matthews was particularly known for his clout. He won his first 16 professional fights in a row, 14 of them by knockout. On May 29, 1997 he won against the American Patrick Swann by knockout in round 6 and thus received the intercontinental championship of the WBO, which he on 11 October successfully defended by a knockout victory in round 7 over his compatriot Darren Dorrington.

On February 7, 1998 he finally suffered his first defeat when he lost to the Hungarian Lorant Szabo by knockout in round 6 and had to give up his title. On February 27, 1999, however, he became Commonwealth Champion after his opponent Paul Jones was disqualified for inactivity in the 7th round.

On July 17, 1999 he was with a knockout victory in round 2 over his compatriot Ryan Rhodes, interim world champion of the WBO. The actual world champion of the WBO has been the German Bert Schenk since January 1999 , but he has not been able to defend his title since May due to an injury, which is why the title was revoked and Matthews was finally named the new reigning WBO world champion in November 1999. But already in the first title defense fight on November 27th of the same year, he had to surrender his world title to Armand Krajnc from Sweden due to a knockout loss in round 8 . This was also the last professional fight of his career.
