Datatypist (-in) , also Datatypist (-in) , is a job title. Data typists enter data from media that cannot be processed electronically, such as receipts printed on paper, completed forms, printed lists and tables as well as dictations from tapes or, more rarely, calls into data end devices and check their validity and / or formatting if necessary .

The service profession cannot generally be learned as a teaching profession. As a qualification to exercise the profession, a fundamentally good writing skills as well as the safe use of computers and, if necessary, the commonly used word processing, spreadsheet and database programs are necessary.
