Datenschlag is a German-language, non-commercial information offering on the subject of BDSM on the Internet. The project was founded in 1996 by 15 people and consists of a non-public mailing list and the public website.

The aim is to collect as much information as possible on sadomasochistic topics. This resulted in an encyclopedia of sadomasochistic terms called The Paper Tiger .

The website consists of three main fields:

  • The Paper Tiger: An Encyclopedia of Sadomasochism
  • The badger: The data hit chronicle of sadomasochism
  • The muskrat: The data library of sadomasochism

The texts are made available to the subculture without consideration, they are among others by SMart Rhein-Ruhr e. V. and BDSM Berlin e. V. used.

history

Datenschlag had a central editorial office . The work of the editorial team ran from 1995 to 2004. Since then, Datenschlag has only been kept passively available online without further development. The last edits in the paper tiger were made in 2005. From September 2017 to January 2018 the domain datenschlag.org was no longer accessible.
