Common Modular Platform

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Common Modular Platform ( CMP , formerly also EMP1 ) is a platform concept for automobiles from Groupe PSA . The platform is designed for various types of drive and is intended to accommodate gasoline and diesel engines as well as electric drives. The CMP platform is designed for the smaller vehicle segments up to and including the compact class as well as for smaller SUVs . In the larger vehicle segments, newer vehicle models from Groupe PSA are usually based on the EMP2 platform . In the long term, all automobiles from Groupe PSA, which includes Peugeot , Citroën , DS as well as Opel and Vauxhall , should each be on one of the two platforms.

The CMP platform was first used in a series vehicle from 2018 in the DS 3 Crossback . In the case of the PSA brands Peugeot and Citroën , it mainly replaces the older platform PF1, while in the case of Opel and Vauxhall etc. a. replaces GM / Fiat's SCCS platform.
