The Peugeot 2008 II is a compact SUV from the Peugeot brand belonging to the French PSA group . With the e-2008, a Peugeot SUV is powered by battery-electric power for the first time.

history

The successor to the Peugeot 2008 I was presented on June 19, 2019. The five-seater has been on sale since the end of November 2019. The launch took place on 25 January 2020. Produced is the 2008 II in Spanish Vigo and Chinese Wuhan .

After the Peugeot 208 II , the 2008 II is the second Peugeot model to be based on the PSA Group's Common Modular Platform (CMP) introduced at the end of 2018 with the DS 3 Crossback . Outwardly, the SUV is similar to the larger Peugeot 3008 and Peugeot 5008 . Similar to the Peugeot 508 II , the model designation is attached to the lower end of the bonnet .

safety

In summer 2019, the second generation of the 2008 was tested by Euro NCAP for vehicle safety. In the basic version, the car received four out of five possible stars. Since a safety package is optionally available for the model, the SUV was also tested with the safety package. In this test, it received five stars out of five.

Technical specifications

The second generation of the 2008 offers a choice of three drive variants in initially six power levels: a 1.2-liter gasoline engine , which is the award-winning Puretech three- cylinder engine, a 1.5-liter diesel engine and a 100 kW (136 HP) powerful electric motor . The electric version has a 50 kWh battery, which should enable a range according to WLTP of 320 km. All drive variants are also available in the DS3 Crossback.
