The Peugeot 4007 is the first SUV from the French car manufacturer Peugeot .

history

The PSA group developed the 4007 together with its sister model Citroën C-Crosser based on the Mitsubishi Outlander . The PSA models are manufactured by Mitsubishi in Japan, the Mitsubishi Outlander by NedCar in the Netherlands.

The Peugeot 4007 was presented to the world for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in 2007 and came onto the German market in September 2007.

Production of the 4007 ended in spring 2012.

Technical specifications

Initially, Peugeot only offered a 2.2-liter HDi diesel engine with a soot particle filter for the 4007 . This has an output of 115 kW (156 hp) and a torque of 380 Nm, which it automatically transmits to all four wheels, the front wheels or via the friction plate clutch up to 55% to the rear axle via a manual six-speed gearbox. From December 2009, a six-speed dual clutch transmission (referred to as “DCS 6” by Peugeot) was optionally available for the turbodiesel engine. Models with this equipment feature have a double pipe exhaust.

Later, a GEMA 2.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine (so-called "world engine") with 125 kW (170 hp) and 232 Nm of torque, developed from the cooperation between Mitsubishi, Daimler-Chrysler and Hyundai, was added dropped again due to low demand.

The 4007 has seven seats as an option, with the third row of seats fully retractable in the trunk floor.
