The Peugeot 208 I is a small car from the French vehicle manufacturer PSA Peugeot Citroën . It is the successor to the Peugeot 207 . The model was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March and came onto the European market on April 21, 2012, initially with a hatchback and three or five doors. Furnishing

Indicators of the Peugeot 208

The 208 is available in three equipment lines: Access , Active and Allure . The basic Access equipment includes an anti-lock braking system , traction control , vehicle dynamics control (ESP), cruise control and six airbags . In addition, models from the Active line are equipped with an audio system, air conditioning, a leather steering wheel and a 7-inch touchscreen monitor, which is used to operate the on-board computer and audio system. The highest equipment line, Allure, also offers a chrome-plated tailpipe, 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, 2-zone automatic air conditioning and sports seats. The GTi, which has been available since March 2013, is based on the upscale equipment of the 208 Allure, but differs in some features such as the seats or the rear spoiler. In 2015 the particularly sporty 208 GTi by Peugeot Sport was presented.

Since the facelift (2015), a reversing camera, a City Emergency Brake Assistant (Active City Brake) and the mirror screen function have been available.

The special models Like, Style, XY , Urban Move and Signature are also offered.

Technical specifications

Initially, there was a choice of two gasoline and three diesel engines. In September 2012, newly developed three-cylinder gasoline engines, including the so-called PureTech engine, and the 208 155 THP model came onto the market. The 155 THP developed 115 kW (156 hp) and was only available with three doors. A 147 kW (200 PS) petrol engine has also been available in the GTi since 2013. The 1.6-liter engine already used in the 207 was developed in cooperation with BMW and is also installed by PSA in the RCZ or DS3, for example.

All models are driven by the front wheels. The more powerful engines with 156/200 HP and the diesel with 115 HP are coupled to a six-speed manual transmission, all others have a 5-speed manual transmission. The two weaker diesels can optionally be equipped with an automated five-speed manual transmission. The wheels are individually suspended, the front on MacPherson struts and wishbones , the rear with a twist beam axle . The steering works with a pinion and rack . In all models, the brake discs are internally ventilated at the front, while the models with three-cylinder petrol engines and the weakest diesel engine have drum brakes at the rear. All other models also have disc brakes on the rear axle.

The successor to the 207 is smaller in all dimensions (length: - 7 cm, width / height: - 1 cm) and the curb weight is on average around 110 kg, up to 173 kg less. The wheelbase, however, remained the same compared to the previous model.

The BlueHDi FAP 120 diesel model with the Euro 6 emissions standard, which has been available since January 2015, has an SCR catalytic converter and an AdBlue tank, as does the BlueHDi FAP 100.
