The Peugeot 401 was built by the French car brand Peugeot from 1934 to 1935 . The car was offered in different body styles, such as a two- or four-door sedan , coupé, convertible and roadster.

The Peugeot 401 was equipped as standard with a 44 hp inline four-cylinder with 1720 cm³. In the short production time up to the introduction of its successor, the Peugeot 402 , around 13,550 vehicles left the factory.

Eclipse

Peugeot 401 Eclipse

The Eclipse model was the convertible version of the Peugeot 401, built in 79 copies from 1935. It was the first car with a fully retractable steel roof that was electrically powered. Today at least three surviving specimens are known.
