The Peugeot 5008 is a vehicle produced by the French car manufacturer Peugeot . The first generation built between 2009 and 2017 is classified by Peugeot as a compact van , the second version built since 2017 as an SUV .

The first generation 5008 is a compact van based on the Peugeot 308 and the Citroën C4 Picasso . The vehicle was officially presented at the IAA in September 2009 and was available with either five or seven seats. After folding in the rear seats, the cargo space has a volume of 1754 liters.

In October 2013 the model was visually revised. It now had the family design like the recently renewed second generation 308 .

Technical specifications

The Peugeot 5008 was offered with two petrol and three diesel engines. The basic gasoline engine had a displacement of 1.6 liters with 88 kW (120 hp), while the 1.6-liter turbo engine developed 115 kW (156 hp). This engine was also available with a 6-speed automatic. In terms of diesel engines, the range started with a 1.6-liter HDi engine with 80 kW (109 hp), which was revised in mid-2010 and later developed 82 kW (112 hp). In addition, there were two 2.0-liter engines with 110 kW (150 PS) and 120 kW (163 PS), the latter only being available with a 6-speed automatic.

At the Paris Motor Show in autumn 2016, Peugeot presented the second generation of the 5008. This is now assigned to the sport utility vehicle class, but is not available with all-wheel drive . Like the 3008 and the DS7 Crossback , the second generation is based on the PSA Group's EMP2 platform .

The vehicle reached dealers in June 2017 at prices from € 24,650.

Registration numbers

Since the market launch up to and including December 2019, a total of 41,062 Peugeot 5008s have been newly registered in the Federal Republic of Germany. With the introduction of the second generation in 2017, the number of registrations has recently increased significantly again.
