Peugeot Type 17 from 1898

The Peugeot Type 17 is an early car model of the French car manufacturer Peugeot , of which 182 copies were produced at the Audincourt plant from 1897 to 1902 .

The vehicles had a two - cylinder four-stroke engine made in-house , which was arranged horizontally in the rear and powered the rear wheels via a chain. The engine developed between 5 and 8 hp .

With a wheelbase of 150 cm, the vehicle length was 245 cm and the vehicle height 150 cm. The two-seater body shape offered space for two people, with an emergency seat for three people.
