The Peugeot Type 56 is an early car model from the French car manufacturer Peugeot , 166 of which were produced at the Audincourt plant in 1903 .

The vehicles had a single - cylinder four-stroke engine that was arranged at the front and propelled the rear wheels via cardan shafts. The engine developed 6.5 HP from a displacement of 833 cm³ .

With a wheelbase of 175 cm, the track width was 108 cm. The Tonneau body shape offered space for four people.
