The Peugeot Type 36 is an early car model of the French car manufacturer Peugeot , 111 of which were produced at the Audincourt plant from 1901 to 1902 .

The vehicles had a single - cylinder four - stroke engine made in-house , which drove the rear wheels via a chain . The engine developed between 5 and 8 hp .
