The Peugeot 2008 I is a crossover SUV produced by the French car manufacturer Peugeot . It was presented at the beginning of 2012 at the Beijing Auto Show as a Peugeot Urban Crossover study , the production version premiered at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2013. The market launch took place in April 2013 at a price of € 14,700 in Germany. This makes it cheaper than the main competitor Nissan Juke and Opel Crossland X .

The 2008 is technically based on the platform of the Peugeot 208 I . In addition to the Opel Crossland X (platform brother) and Nissan Juke, the Ford EcoSport , which will be launched later, is also one of the main competitors. A version with Hybrid Air drive, in which a three-cylinder gasoline engine is combined with a compressed air drive, was announced for 2016, but never came onto the market.

In January 2015, the 2008 version of the DKR took part in the Dakar Rally.

In 2008 the equipment variants Active, Allure and a GT-Line Edition were available.

A revised version was presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2016, which can be recognized by the radiator grille with its now vertically aligned struts and an integrated branded lion. In addition, the facelifted 2008 has wheel arch extensions made of black plastic and the Allure equipment can be expanded with the GT-Line package.

The 2008 I is also the successor to the 207 SW , as there was no station wagon version of the 208 I. In June 2019 the Peugeot 2008 II was presented. Like the Peugeot 208 II or the DS 3 Crossback, it is based on the Common Modular Platform (CMP).

production

The Peugeot 2008 was initially produced in Mulhouse (France) and Wuhan (China), and later also at the PSA plant in Porto Real in the state of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil . Peugeot itself describes the 2008 as the " world car ".
